“My work comes from the time spent being in these places”
About
I live and work on the West Coast of Scotland.
In 1997-2001 I studied a BA (Hons) in Textile Design in Galashiels. This time of study left an incredible impact on my visual expression and continues to help me refine and develop my artistic processes.
Connected
I really love to transfer images and ideas from my journeys into print, paintings or mixed media encaustic work, whichever way truly captures the place. Experiencing the mountains and landscape as a hill runner or spending time in these nurturing places can feed directly back into my work.
.
Environment
At the forefront of my work is witnessing the ever changing beauty of the West Coast, be it through changing light or how it feels to be in these unique locations. Sharing with the viewer a connection to landscape, place & environment. This continues to be an important concept within my work.
Create
Often the beginnings of a piece of work will be captured from sketches taken on location, being immersed outside/en plein air, my visual expression & personal memory of these places. These are further progressed into artworks at the home studio, the whole process is akin to that of reflection similar to journaling.
Evolve
I remain open to my art direction changing and I let that development come naturally, which often depends on experiences/places/people I’ve connected with in my life.
Explorations within environment and encaustic mixed media paintings is naturally where my artwork is heading.

Studio
I am now delighted to be working from my home studio in the beautiful Highlands.
Over the years I have travelled spending time in different locations, predominantly on the West Coast of Scotland. I recently lived & had studio time spent on a beautiful boat, it will remain with me such an incredible and challenging life experience and has shaped me and my art direction.
Evolving Direction
I venture into opening up possibilities to collaborate with other creative Artist’s/Businesses.
I’d love to support positive long term change towards the natural growth and protection of our environment.
